2023 International Electrolyzer Innovation and Development Conference

On July 26 and 27, 2023, the “International Electrolyzer Innovation and Development Conference” hosted by Hydrogen Frontier and hosted by Green Hydrogen House was held in Suzhou. This conference invited more than 30 scientific research institutions, universities, corporate executives, government agencies and other participants, and more than 500 people participated in the conference. In the form of a “conference + exhibition”, the conference held interactive discussions and product exhibitions, and conducted in-depth discussions on how to promote the development of green hydrogen in my country through the development of electrolyzers in the context of carbon neutrality, and ultimately achieve the goal of zero-carbon transformation.

Hydrogen production from renewable electricity is called “green hydrogen” and is the “ultimate route” with zero carbon emissions and sustainability. There are four main technical routes for electrolyzing water to produce hydrogen, namely alkaline electrolysis, PEM electrolysis, SOEC electrolysis and solid polymer anion exchange membrane water electrolysis AEM. The electrolysis water hydrogen production industry chain covers multiple links, including raw material procurement, equipment manufacturing, transportation and application. In this industry chain, there are abundant business opportunities and investment potential. With the continuous advancement of technology and the gradual decline of costs, electrolysis water-to-hydrogen industry is expected to usher in a golden period of vigorous development.

PEM electrolyzer bipolar plates are mostly made of titanium-based materials, and the surface is coated with precious metal (mostly Pt and Au) coatings. The titanium-based material coating solution of Beijing Powertech is currently in the sample testing stage. It has the characteristics of high efficiency, stable quality, low contact resistance, and high durability. It is in line with the current market development needs and can help PEM electrolyze water. Hydrogen production equipment customers reduce costs and achieve industrialization.
